I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed using this pedal. It enhances the sound by providing a natural depth and an organic quality reminiscent of a talented singer with a great vibrato! Unlike most pedals, the Tremolo removes sound, which is an interesting effect to play around with. If you’re a fan of the vintage sound, I would recommend purchasing this pedal as your third or fourth after the Polytune2, MXR 10band EQ, and a reverb if your amp doesn’t have one. The sound quality is exceptional, and the pedal is built to last, which is something Boss is known for.

After years of trying countless tremolo pedals, from SupaTrem to JHS Kodiak and everything in between, I can say that the Boss TR-2 is the one for fans of the smooth, warm sound of 60’s Fender tremolo. Despite Boss getting an undeserved bad reputation for not being “cool enough” compared to boutique pedals, their products are innovative, reliable, and easy to find on the road. I wasted so much money experimenting with various “boutique” tremolo pedals, only to realize that the TR-2 was exactly what I needed. It’s simple and excels at producing the warm Fender tremolo sound. This pedal may not offer ten different mediocre sounding tremolo types, but if you’re looking for one pedal that does one thing brilliantly well, then the TR-2 is it. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants the Fender sound.
